Claims Services - Introducing your Claims Account Relationship Team
We pride ourselves on the quality of our claims teams and their ability to deliver service that our clients expect and can rely upon.

Our Claims Account Relationship Team helps AIG UK to stay close to our clients. The team facilitates action, provides advice and assistance to ensure that our clients receive the comprehensive claims service offered by AIG. Their main roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Work with our claims teams across all lines and regions, including AIG’s global network, to ensure consistency of service.
  • Act as a conduit between AIG companies, clients and brokers.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and brokers throughout the year.
  • Develop and execute bespoke account claims strategy for major clients.
  • Provide claims focal point for clients and brokers.
  • Address and resolve claims servicing issues.

Beyond this, the Claims Relationship Team also takes a lead in implementing new AIG-wide strategic claims service programmes. All are senior claims professionals with many years experience; simply among our most capable personnel. With no assigned claims caseload, they are free to focus on client service delivery and ensuring that this culture is continually instilled into AIG UK's technical and day-to-day claims operations.

When he joined us at AIG UK in May 2004, Ian had already accrued over 16 years' claims handling experience in other organisations. He started his career in Leeds as a casualty claims handler dealing with Employers Liability, General Liability and Property line claims. Most recently, Ian headed up the General Liability team for an international brokerage firm in their Leeds office, before taking up this Business Development role for our Corporate Accounts Practice.

Rick's insurance career spans over 30 years, 29 of them with AIG UK. His invaluable cross-class knowledge is a product of his multiple roles over that period, including liability claims adjuster and investigator, claims manager for Bristol office, UK Liability claims manager, UK Motor claims manager and as AIG UK's first claims business development manager for Corporate Accounts from 2004. Rick holds ACII qualifications and is highly regarded for his experience in all levels of claims handling, from the 'ground level' to the most high profile, high value litigation cases.

Graham has over 20 years experience handling Casualty claims for several insurers both in the London insurance market and regional offices. He joined AIG UK 5 years ago as a Senior Claims Adjuster dealing with high value and complex Casualty claims until starting work for AIG WorldSource in May 2007 as their representative in the UK. WorldSource meets the insurance needs of US-based companies with international operations, as well as foreign corporations doing business in the United States.

Wendy also brings over 20 years experience in the industry, from her days back in her native Canada, as well as the US and the UK. She is AIIC qualified (the Canadian equivalent of ACII) and also holds a degree in Sociology from California State University. She first joined AIG UK in 2000 as a Senior Claims Adjuster operating out of the Manchester office before being promoted to Assistant Vice President and taking up the position of Claims Account Relationship Manager for Major Account Practice.

Fiona has 19 years experience in the industry, all at AIG UK. Fiona first joined AIG UK in 1989 working for AIG Direct in the personal accident and travel department. Fiona moved across to AIG in 1998 taking the role of a Senior Claims Adjuster within the Accident & Health Department and became the Line Manager in January 2007. Fiona joined the Claims Relationship Team in October 2008, working closely with Jonathan Reed to assist Major Accounts Practice clients.

Jonathan has more than 20 years experience in the London insurance market, including 12 years as a Lloyd's broker. As a claims professional, he has since serviced property, energy, libel and slander, professional indemnity and crime portfolios. Joining AIG UK in February 1997 as a senior claims adjuster for Financial Lines, he became Line Manager in 2003. He has been a Claims Account Relationship Manager (CARM) since Feb 2006. In this role he is a focal point for claims service, both here in the UK and around the world, for Major Accounts Practice clients.

Stuart has 21 years of claims experience in the insurance environment. He joined AIG UK 14 years ago handling Casualty claims and has held a number of Claims Management positions in the UK. Stuart has also worked in Continental Europe, the US and parts of Latin America with AIG and also held the position of Country Claims Manager in Australia.

Stuart was appointed to his present role in June 2009.

Denise has worked in the insurance industry in a variety of claims roles for almost 30 years and is ACII qualified. She joined AIG UK in January 1994, handling claims from the ground up for different classes of business and carrying out external investigation work. For the past 9 years, Denise has worked out in the field as a claims investigator on casualty business covering the Midlands and South West areas. She was appointed Claims Business Development Manager for Corporate Accounts within the Birmingham & Bristol Branch Regional Areas in October 2008.

Sharon has worked for 21 years within the insurance industry specifically in the motor arena. Sharon has handled claims and managed teams both in personal lines and commercial motor including personal injury. For the last 5 years Sharon worked as a commercial motor relationship manager, two of those with AIG UK, before moving into her current relationship manager role.
